The Wizardhead Fan Site is a responsive HTML & CSS project made for a web-development class. A site on a topic was designed and created using pure HTML and CSS. No scripting or frameworks were used, in order to demonstrate competence with CSS.

Permission was gained from Brendan Baldwin to use his art and likeness.

The Personal Portfolio Site is a responsive Bootstrap 5 project made for a web-development class. After the Wizardhead Fan Site project demonstrated proficiency with CSS, this project tested my ability to learn, use, and customize CSS frameworks. I then hosted it onto Firebase. No scripting was permitted.

This project involved first setting up a web server on the Raspberry Pi and controlling access permissions. Then, I wrote a Python 3 program to read temperature data from the Pi HAT, output the data to the web server, and toggle the lights on the pi depending on the temperature's trend direction. Some of the code was provided by the project.

This project first followed an Youtube tutorial on making Snake in Java using Swing. I created a repository on Github and practiced making commits and pushing to the repo with Git Bash as I progressed. After the tutorial, I extended the project by refactoring code, adding a replay function, adding a top score tracker, and preventing the apple from spawning inside the snake.

I am very interested in VR's potential as an educational aid. Many people use VR Chat to practice acquired languages, including American Sign Language (ASL). Projects like PlayAR Piano are exploring the use of AR in the pedagogy of music. Games like Beat Saber and Synth Riders bring fitness into video games.

I am keen on harnessing VR's strengths to develop gamified and radically immersive educational tools. I am designing projects around the instruction of ASL, music, and dance.

Several of my classmates are cyclists or commute by bicycle. Caution regarding the dangers of being on the road inspired me to present the idea of a rear-facing proximity warning system to my peers. Although commercial versions exist, it seemed like a challenging but aproachable side project for us to pursue.

Since the initial proposal, we have completed preliminary component selection, and are working on the initial design.

Hustle is a disco partner dance created by Puerto Rican teenagers in the 70s. Its popularity at the time lead to its portrayal in films like Saturday Night Fever.

Although Hustle has remained strong in places like New York or LA, it is currently dead in Victoria. Dancing the Hustle feels smooth, flashy, and incredibly joyous, so I have the goal of bringing it back to the island for many to enjoy. I have taught several workshops already to considerable interest. The next step is to find and rent out a lesson space.
